HI All,

I'd like to replace my living room wood stove with an in-wall gas fireplace. The main reason is aesthetic/ambiance, not heat output. Not sure what dimensions would look best. and could use design help!

The wall where the fireplace would go is approx 13' wide; the window to the left of the fireplace is 38" wide x 51" high; the remaining space (from the right side of the window frame to the far right wall) is is approx 94".

My preferred aesthetic is a modern linear fireplace. The room has a cathedral ceiling with wood paneling, which I don't plan to change. Not sure how to design the surround, and how high the surround should go. We do NOT want a TV or mantel or shelf above the fireplace (will likely hang artwork above it). A low shelf or mantel below the fireplace could be interesting (but not sure how to design it).

Finally, my preference is not to have the fireplace stick into the living room too much. While typical units are 20" deep, there's a slim-line Solas firplace that is 12" deep, and 48" wide (also comes 60" wide).

What wall design and layout would look best, considering the window on the left and the skinny space remaining on the right? Should the 12" build out go all the way up to the ceiling? Room photos below ... TIA
