About to start planning kitchen remodel as part of ground floor extension. Drawing shows the area we have to play with, the black blocks are pillars/columns that will be staying so we have to fit around them. The only other immovable thing is the boiler shown in red, and the window. We currently have an island but i am not that attached to it unless we can fit it in as well as a kitchen table seating 4. The kitchen will open onto a new garden room so we can't have units on the back wall. I am undecided between a 90cm range which is what we have currently, or a separate induction hob and wall ovens. Would also like matching tower fridge and freezer (rather than an American one). Currently we are a bit short on work surface area so keen to maximise that. Existing sink is under the window (which looks out onto the side passage so not a particularly nice view). Photos show current layout. Any suggestions welcome!

I knew you were in the UK, when i saw the washing machine in the kitchen. 😊

This is the North American (US/Canadian) Houzz site. So, your dimensions will need to be in inches and feet. Or, you could look for the UK Houzz site.

@shirlpp, it’s quite typical in English homes (esp smaller ones) to have the washer in the kitchen. Clothes are most often dried outside on a line. Sometimes, a drier will be located in a shed.

Regardless of the view, a window over the sink and workspace are a positive for natural light.

Run cabinet all the way to the ceiling, looks like you need storage in order to create more work surface. The floor plan/measured drawing needs to be more precise and clearer. Photos of all four walls Stand in the door way and photograph each wall from the same vantage point.

Does the kitchen need to stay within this footprint, or can you use some of the newly planned extension?
