Lots of ways to find a buyer’s agent, which is probably what you meant.

Ask your friends who they used to purchase a house.

Check online/yellow pages for realty agencies near where you want to purchase a home. Call them up and inquire, or better yet, visit the agency and ask questions about the procedures in buying a home.

Read reviews on possible agencies/specific agents.

Don’t pick the first one you see - interview several and then make your choice.

Go on-line and search for independent real estate brokers in your location or independent real estate agencies in your location. Then read their reviews.

Good advice above — I'd add one step first: talk to a lender and get preapproved before you start touring, so you know your real budget and sellers take your offer seriously. Then interview two or three buyer's agents, not just the first name you find. Ask how they handle buyer representation agreements, how they're compensated, how often they'll update you, and how well they know the neighborhoods you're looking at. The right fit is someone who explains the process clearly and isn't pushing you to move faster than you're comfortable with.
