BM Harwood Putty, it has a vintage feel. Then have fun with some blooming vines on the front columns by the door, a few chairs for the porch to enjoy

White and that dark grey look great. Perhaps the features shingles in the gable ends needs staining or painting again. Paint the front door a more sophisticated bright red. Shutters could work well. With a little paint and landscaping this could be the prettiest home on the street! Love it- great potential.

The colors from iplay10s 2nd picture, light grey with white trim, would make look "fresh" while keeping the period look you want. Also, I agree that the front door needs a more sophisticated red. The shingles in the gables would look great painted a dark grey or black.

Beautiful home. I am biased against white houses (grew up in one) because the trim is always the same color as the body and therefore doesn't stand out. Therefore, I ditto the suggestion for light grey (or darker would be my preference) with white trim and a cranberry or blue front door.

I agree with mcbriec about the trim not standing out. Your house has pretty architectural details (balcony railing, window trim, columns, etc.) but the white hides many of them. If you stick with white, consider painting these elements with a different color to provide some contrast. This house will look GREAT with new paint!

Research the period, using the colors of that time. I agree that highlighting the trim and architectural details in contrast would be perfect!

Hello Judy. I find the all-white treatment both traditional and beautiful, not that a soft pastel with white trim isn't equally special. If you decide to stay all white you can introduce colour and distinguish the appearance of your house from your neighbour's with planting. And you could use your balcony as a base for something colourful spilling over the railings. I would also in that case paint the door a dark charcoal, to tie in with the roof. I haven't drawn them, but a big planter on each side of the door would look good. And if I may digress a bit, I think you should have a much more important-looking garden light.

Your house is going to be gorgeous.

You can use some berry color for accents around the dark gray and the white (or light gray) to acheive a "painted lady" greek revival house. Then, turn your attention to the landscape.

Paint the window mullions a bronze black and the front door a bright red. For more contrast you could go multi-tone:

I like the idea of shutters but had to decide between white and dark charcoal. So I played with Paint and I think this looks good.

The one thing that is bothering me on your house is the extended roof under the balcony -- it looks kind of messy. Is that just the photograph? Dew, or something? If not, I think it needs redoing to match up with the rest of the roof -- just on the basis of the photograph. Oh, and I do think the stair rails should be upgraded, and should be white -- if the house remains white.

I think another color would brighten it up...keep the columns white, put long shutters in instead of that door on the second floor and change your front door.

White is nice. White is classic. White is right. No rail needed, all you need is some classic cane chairs on the verandah that say, "Someone lives here". Can't see if its fenced, but it should be, with traditional picket fence softened with a border garden. Attached ics from Houzz are what I had in mind for your home. You've done well, bought a charming olde home. Love it.
