Need some advice on furnishing

I am currently living in an apartment, and I recently bought the Henry sofa from West Elm in Dove Grey. I will be moving into a house soon, and I need to add another couch. What color/fabric do you think would look nice with this sofa? I do have a black leather chair, but I may move that out of the living room if it doesn't go.

Yes, I agree! I purchased mine from a guy who owned it for a month. He showed me receipt and said he didn't want it because he was over 6ft and didn't fit in it laying down. Well sadly his receipt didn't cover ME as the new owner. They couldn't offer me a thing in repair so I've been stuck w/ it for 2 yrs now :/ I would DEFINITELY go into WE and maybe even consider trading it out. It will only get worse. I have to re-fluff it DAILY and the back cushions literally look like long noodles! I can take pictures of how crazy it looks after we sit on it for hours and then how I"m able to finesse it to look decent again. For a couch this pricey I don't think that's how it should be!

They're all neutrals so almost anything will look great unless you have other items to work with. I'd probably go with another of the same (Its a great sofa in style and color!) or a nice cream sofa in a durable fabric then add your favorite color in a rug, art, and throw pillows.

We own the Henry by WE and I have to say that you should prepare for the fabric to stretch out of shape after a few months :( Its a constant battle to reshape the lower cushions and the back cushions are just not looking like they did when new. In fact I had to buy extra filling for them and now they're just weird looking. keep your receipt and good luck with it! Maybe I got a dud but I was really sad w/ the quality of this fabric

We have owned the Henry for a few months and its already happened to the back cushions. I hate to give it up at only a couple months old, but I don't want to base an entire room around a couch that could be tossed out soon. Thanks Erica, for the input. I thought maybe it was just us leaning on the back cushions funny, but it sounds like we aren't alone.

You should talk to the people at West Elm about this problem. I would think that they would stand behind their product, or at least ensure that the customer is satisfied. Since it's still pretty new, maybe they will let you exchange for a different fabric - especially if you say you would actually like to buy two sofas!

Here's one example of how it starts to look frumpy on the lower cushions and this isn't the worst of it. I'll take pics of it when i don't have the smaller cushions covered.

That's a pretty room Erica, but I see what you mean about the cushions. The backs were taller than the sofa back, but have slumped. If you take them into a reupholsterer they can add or make new inserts in that won't loose shape as quickly. Frustrating after spending so much on a new sofa. West Elm should fix it.

Ok so here's a realistic look at how they end up after ONE NIGHT of hanging out on the couch...seriously pathetic if you ask me. And this is because we don't let our son be a monkey that climbs all over it either. This is simply from us just leaning back on the cushions and slowly but surely it starts to look like this. :/

oh and here's my dirty secret...the back cushions have EXTRA stuffing that i've taken out of extra throw pillows I have around the house to fill them. They weren't even stuffed completely!!!

Emachida, my guess is you won't be buying from West Elm. Check out Pottery Barn, Ethan Allen, or Lazy Boy they al have similar looking sofas.
