I had one like this, with no windows and dark. I put the interest on the ceiling. I painted it bright orange, then painted in script different words for "home" in white at an angle, then framed it out with molding.... turned out great. Don't forget bright lighting.

Hi Sofiya, this is quite the challenge. Most of the time, people forget about the hallway and it can be difficult to decorate because you can't rely on furniture to do the trick. For some drama you can wallpaper the walls, but since you are going for a simple look, I would recommend painting the hallways to a soothing light cream colour. Right now there is a lot of yellow/orange from the floor and walls. To personalize the space and make it feel homey, think about adding family pictures using a gallery layout. Change the photos to black and white to give it that timeless look. Introduce a runner as an extra element, offering the space texture, pattern and some colour.

Those are great suggestions, the deep dark color does add depth to the hallway. Please consider faux stone or brick panels you will get depth, texture and Insulation!, which means more quiet time and less noise from the television or conversations pouring into the room, plus nobody can hear what is going on inside the rooms etc.

In addition, since there is not that much natural lighting you may want a little brighter out look perhaps a wheat brick or check out the alpi almond stacked stone look.

The first thing that comes to my mind is changing the pot lights for some pendants. Here are different styles to consider. Also, wallpapering the hallway would make it very cozy and make it a feature in the house almost like a gallery feel. You could go very neutral or......

......very bold!

In fact, that link takes you to the very frames I buy. (The ones in the photo above actually look like metal frames, but you can get those at Frame USA, also.) If you were to frame a bazillion photos all in the same frame, it would give you a clean, cohesive look.
