Love the convenience of those large open shelves under bath sinks. Think of what is needed for short stays, not what is needed in a home...like traditional desks and night stands. Need places for suitcases. Hooks for towels and robes. Two reclining chairs for TV viewing. Upholstery and flooring that doesn't reek of use by others. No cheap art. No beige. Light, fresh colors.

Further, no shower curtains, dark heavy furniture or dark patterned carpet. Who needs carpet anywhere? Think of an aging population that needs grab bars and wider doors. Make the hallways as attractive as the rooms. I'm guessing you need to think of cost savings like cabinet units that can be pre-fabricated and installed. Make it easy on the cleaning people. Take every element of today's hotels and re-think it. Having given this thought for you, I realize how few hotels aren't depressing.

Tons of inspirational pictures on here, so you've come to the right place to look for ideas, but they will not simply fall your way. Assuming you're doing an architectural/design study? Then the searching is part of the 'mission'. Good luck on that assignment!

There's lots of info on hospitality design. Entire magazines (HDmag, contract design). I've seen some great seminars, many posted on YouTube with top architects like David Rockwell, Adam Tihany and Trisha Wilson talking about the state of the industry and modern trends. Your search should be a pretty easy one. On Amazon there are a number of books on the subject as well.

more info: the hotel is in Iran, Tehran, works for a university, it should contain 50 rooms, and some public spaces such as restaurant, exhibition, conference hall and etc.
