Hi, I think you should incorporate a pattern in your rug and add pillows to your couch to match the colors. What other colors are in your living room? I see a teal and gold vase on the mantle. Maybe incorporate these colors in to your rug and pillows!

Ok thanks a lot for your ideas and comment I will shop and look around for the rug with accent colours unfortunately I bought this media storage unit only 3 months ago so will have to wait a while before I replace it.
