Piano dilemma

We just built a house (smaller than our older house) and my husband and I have a disagreement on whether to keep our piano. (He is against it, claiming that it loos "too crowded". I am enclosing images of he piano (and its elegant "booties" :); we have not gotten a carpet where it would sit, due to our disagreement). I would welcome your input on whether to keep it, and if so, how to place it, give the space we have. Thank you!

ALWAYS KEEP an ebony grand piano!! Is it a Kawai, Yamaha? It looks like that corner was made for it. Rotate it 45 degrees either clockwise or counterclockwise. I'm thinking counterclockwise will be it, but I'm not in the room.

Hello music folks! Nice looking piano, but it is definitely demanding center stage here. I'd say the central question is, "Is this instrument important to one or both of you who play it?"

If it is a centerpiece in your life, perhaps it's appropriate that is so in your home, as well. I bet it can really make some sound in this hardwood floored space!

If it's not so important, maybe someone else would enjoy it more, while you perhaps get a nice console model to put against the wall?

What is in the fireplace room? Any chance it could go in there? If so, get rid of everything but the piano and an elegant chair. Owning a grand piano is my daughter's dream!!!!!
