From yellow to purple!

My kitchen right now is the one with yellow , and I am thinking to change it to the purple color. Do you think it will be ok, and if it does , which color would you paint the rest of the house since it's an open area and you are able to see the kitchen since you enter the front door?

I think the purple is great. Gives a whole different feel to the room. I'd paint the rest of the house in a gray. Neutral, but goes well with the purple.

Love the purple!
Can you post pictures of where the rest of the house meets the kitchen, show furniture and flooring. That would make it easier for folks to suggest color for rest of house.

As you can see I have like 4 colors right now. I want the kitchen purple like I said , leave the stairs dark grey and the rest probably a Lighter grey. What do you all think?? Any suggestions. ;) thanks for the replies.
