I can post one to give you an idea (I apologize, this is the best I have, I need to take more updated pics). We're building this home ourselves. I'm not a contractor and neither is my husband but he and many of his family and friends have built homes so we built our own. I understand your question--I think it's hard to picture what it will look like but I am loving the outcome. I think it's a great layout and the butlers pantry is really unique. It's exceeded our expectations!

A bit of background--we actually eliminated the original pantry in the plan and the bathroom off of the mudroom (moved the bathroom over by the front door by pushing the master closet out to the corner of the home). We did this so we could push the kitchen wall back to give us more room in the kitchen & mudroom (plus I really didn't want visitors walking all the way back into my mudroom/laundry room to use the bathroom). I think the location of the butlers pantry is really unique. We've created it to be an easy access drink station/wet bar. We can store all of our drinks in the under counter fridge to free up space in our kitchen fridge & help with traffic flow when we have family get together or parties. There is a place to store wines. This area will also be great to display china & crystal and store linens & other special occasion dinnerware (this eliminates the need for a traditional china cabinet as well). However, I think this space could serve other purposes if this isn't something your family would use. I debated making it in to a pantry of sorts or even a recessed craft or storage area. It's located in a small "hall" area (I don't think it's much more than 5 ft in length & it's at an angle so it's a fairly open area) and connects the kitchen to what is intended in the original plan as a dining room. I personally do not need that kind of space for dining so the original dining room space will be my office/receiving room.

This picture angle is taken (during construction) from the kitchen looking through the butlers pantry in to the "dining room" area (which is my office). The door on the left leads in to the mudroom/laundry room. The door on the right leads to the basement.

Glockfan, I've had so many questions and know so many people who have or are in the process of building this home, that I've created a closed Facebook group to share photos and discussion. Anybody is welcome to join: https://www.facebook.com/groups/KensingtonPark/
