Handheld shower or overhead also?

This is the first clear photo I have seen showing Hansgrohe where the wall outlet for the handheld shower also has a holder (as opposed to the wall bar separate from wall outlet) Is the angle on the wall outlet sufficient to allow for an overhead shower? or is the bar "necessary" for use as an overhead shower? Thanks so much!
