Your installer should be able to advise you about distressing your existing white oak floors - make sure they have experience doing this and ask them to provide a few samples of distressing (light, medium, heavy) before having them do it throughout. This can certainly be done, with the right professional, at a higher price point on your labor. Note that in the future when you need to refinish/rescreen your floors, there are tools out there that a professional hardwood refinisher can use that will allow you to retain the distressed look. Be sure to ask about this as you go down the path. Good luck! We love white oak - it's sure to be gorgeous in a distressed application!
