The kitchen island is 3 centimeter Quartz (about 1 1/2 inches thick). The color is called Camel and it is manufactured by Cesarstone. The original plan was to use marble, but it stains a lot in the kitchen. A little lemon juice or tomato sauce left on the counter could cause permanent staining and the homeowners didn't want to worry.
