I am having granite installed in my kitchen. I will also put in a new backsplash. I have noticed the photos of very beautiful kitchens do not have the 4" granite backsplash. Most of the granite countertops photos show the granite butting up to the backsplash tile.

Should I have the 4" granite backsplash installed then tile above it? Or leave off the 4" backsplash??? What's the rule of thumb here? Thank you in advance! Jenn
