I think the Tv needs be lowered to fit on the laminate backboard, so that it is not higher than the back panel. I would use large black framed black and white prints or photos above the TV all across the space up to the edge of the TV cabinet, not beyond the vertical line. I would use the ottoman as a coffee table. Then place a chair on the right side of the TV cabinet. I would add additional bookcase units on the left of the TV cabinet, almost as high as the other tall shelves.

This would be best if .... you could move the tall bookcase shelves very close to the right side of the TV cabinet? Then place a chair in it's place. If that works, you can get a trunk to use as an end table for the chair and for toys.
