I am very sad to say that I based my entire kitchen project on using travertine countertops with a wild Red Dragon Or Blue Azula center island to get the WOW! factor to find out that Travertine Is a big NO NO!! because of the poor stain resistance.. :( I have a gorgeous versallies noche travertine floor with ralph lauren sued sand colored walls with white creamy woodwork through the entire house with limestone fireplaces.. It gives a very warm theme and I'm set on going with Satin Black kitchen cabinets and Wet Bar also for the kitchen island ... I have pretty much been to every slab yard "6" in the area and I'm back to my very first pick I made.I've found it impossible to pick out a warm color that goes with any extreme piece without a major clash .. I know I won't get the effect of warm fuzzy cozy travertine counters and Its killing me but I realy want to go with two opposite colors for a wow factor still..Here are the two colors I have chosen and they are Absolute Cream and Cosmoz.. attached is my actual picked out slab for the island and the cream color for the countertops..pics are bad so i have a close up of the lighter slab to get an idea.. I'm open to any ideas on color as this has been keeping me up at night for a week..lol
