I went through the Edgecomb Gray, Revere Pewter dilemma when re remodelled our kitchen - I bought both as samples from BM and tried them on the actual walls we were planning to paint. (they do both change colour depending on the light etc) We ended up going with Edgecomb. I love this colour and it is spreading throughout our whole house - just painted the laundry room today :)

I need some serious help regarding what color drapes to pair with Revere Pewter. I like a tone on tone clean look and am having a hell of a time finding drapes that are a close match to the wall color. As many of you know, Revere Pewter is in the Griege family, so it really isn't grey or beige, but changes hues all day long. Right now it looks beige, but earlier it looked grey. My dilemma is that silver/nickel/grey curtains look to grey against this wall color and make the walls look beige, but beige curtains tend to make the wall stand out as grey. I almost wish I painted a true grey color as my curtain choices could have been a lot easier. Anyone have the perfect shade that would be tone on tone with this color? OR at the very least, would you recommend I stick more with a grey family curtain (silver, platinum) or go more beige (latte, sand, etc.). Perhaps s

I'm back and happy to report I've found the perfect solution for me after many months of ordering various curtain colors and materials. There's a great site called Halfpriceddrapes.com that a friend told me about that her designer used. I've purchased custom roman shades in the past from them with success and just solved my Revere Pewter dilemma. I took a chance and ordered some heavy "faux" linen drapes in a "latte" color and wouldn't you know - they MATCH the walls EXACTLY! It's the "tone on tone" look I was searching months for. The Latte is not a strong tan, but sort of a cross between natural linen color and beige but it blends right into the wall. I highly recommend these quality curtains....although faux, they are just as nice as real linen and high reviews. I am usually a silk curtain type person, but this material goes well with my shabby chic/farm house/neutral type décor. I used a 20% off promotion code for new arrivals and ended up getting 4 panels for just $320!!!!! Unreal. http://www.halfpricedrapes.com/wheat-heavy-faux-linen-curtain.html. So, if you want a tone on tone look, this is the only color I've found to match the walls. In the past, I've ordered silver curtains from this same site and had to return them as silver is just too stark for the walls and just stuck out too much.

Kristen, I think you might be a God-send! This is the same EXACT problem I have had for a month. And I think you may have solved it. All gray curtains I have tried look almost purple/blue next to the wall in my revere pewter bedroom. I think I am going to give these latte curtains a whirl!

Glad I could help. I think you'll find that Latte matches very well for a tone on tone look. You just have to want Linen as the material. I couldn't find this same latte color in silk dupiuoni or taffeta, but that's ok......I love these. Note - they don't have a liner, but they are not flimsy and look expensive. I'll try to take a picture in a few days and post it. I had to take my curtains down temporarily for crown molding installation:)

Has anyone used this color against brazilian cherry wood floors? I have these floors in my entire 1st floor along with Cherry stained cabinets and all of the red is getting to me! I was going to use Revere Pewter because I was told that the bit of green in it can balance and tone the red. Anyone have experience with this? Thank you

We used revere pewter for our basement. We did board and battan on the bottom 2/3 which is painted white dove. It looks nice and definitely khaki. Our dilemma is carpet color. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Thank you Jolene. We are looking at a medium brown color called "tea party " and although it isn't as neutral as I would like it looks nice with the Revere Pewter. The problem is we have no furniture fabric to get some inspiration. Also your living room rug appears to be a wheat color?

@Gina I have brazillian cherry floors and I found that they brought out too much blue in the revere pewter paint samples I put on our walls. We ended up going with BM stone hearth which seems a much better match.

You guys are awesome, this is what I needed. I just bought a gallon of edgecomb gray and have started painting my foyer and wanted to extend it into the living room. I just read above though that the only time it doesn't work is if you have pink undertones in your home. Here's my kitchen' which is one and adjacent to the living room. Th cabinets are orange toned, and the flooring in th foyer is also slightly orange toned. Could this be an unflattering combo? Kitchen color is agave by bm. I also used van courtland blue bm in the mudroom (slightly visible in first photo) and in the hall bathroom

I love it love it but make sure you have plenty of natural light and also love blues, greens, yellows :) I have it in staircase, hallway and all downstairs in my house it will read different colors in natural lights so make sure you try it in different spot

I love revere pewter, but we have medium oak trim and cabinets throughout our new home. I can't find any pics online with anything other than white trim. Will this color work for me?!

I faced the dilemma of Revere Pewter or Edgecomb Gray in a new bathroom with stone look porcelain, and my fix was to do half and half. It was perfect for the tile, a little duller and took out the pink of Edgecomb, but a bit brighter and less green than Revere. Of course now I have to choose a bedroom paint color, which has a direct visual to the bathroom. I am thinking of coventry gray but hope it's not too dark for this north facing bedroom. I have Rattan--a gold brown in the hallway--so a flow to the bathroom from so much color in the hallway compounds the choice. Not sure about my mixed color for bedroom either, but maybe.

ktonlino, it might be worth starting your own design dilemma. Just a thought. I worry people won't see your questions because this design dilemma is more than 2 years old. Good luck. I don't have any great advice for you. :-)

I need a neutral too and want something a bit lighter than Revere Pewter.

SW worldly gray on walls and SW Shoji White on trim....light and calm very pretty combination. SW Dorian gray is a great accent with it...put it on island in kitchen....Shoji white cabinets...just beautiful.

Just painted whole house downstairs revere pewter.. Having difficulty with trim color and ceiling color. Would like trim/ceiling color to make revere stand out. There is not going to be any crown molding between ceiling and walls.. Best choices??

Unless you like green undertones that Revere Pewter has.......I would do Agreeable gray or Wordly gray...they are no fail light gray colors perfect for throughout the house will go with everything!

Does anyone have any pictures of medium oak with Revere Pewter walls?

Galveston Gray was voted number one gray to mix with oak cabinets...for some reason the Revere Pewter takes on a slightly blue,silver look next to oak..I thought it had more of a green undertone/warm but have seen it look more silverish???

I used revere pewter in my 2 story, well lit living room with oak trim and I fell it looks a lot more taupe than it does with white trim. I wouldn't consider it gray at all. I like it, but don't love it with oak.

Here is a family room with oak floors white trim and Galveston Gray walls! It really looks beautiful together..
