I've heard good things about Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore. It's their most searched color now. I'm probably going to use this color in my house. It's a warm gray that looks good with most colors.

Most wall paint colors seem darker when they are on all of the walls than they look on the paint chips or even a large swatch painted on one wall. So, if you really want a light grey I suggest looking at the "whites" for the greyest of the colors listed as "white" b/c once all four walls are painted in a smallish room a color can seem deeper, darker and more intense.
Also a neutral grey can cause some accent colors to have extreme contrast while others look dull. (Your grey choice might need a tiny touch of the primary paint accent you choose mixed into the paint to avoid a contrast clash with your preferred accent color.) So check the grey possibilities together with the accent color possibilities to see how they work together. Google "grey and contrast of extension" for more on this. Grey can be tricky to choose, but once carefully chosen it can be lovely.
Also the yellowish light cast by ordinary light bulbs will have a strong effect on your grey choice, changing the color effect entirely but flourescent based bulbs can make some greys seem cold. So check the color swatch with different types of bulbs you might choose and both day and night. Remember that bathroom lights are often used in the daytime, for makeup or mirror use, if windows are few or covered for privacy, or certainly if it is an interior bath with no windows at all. Your window coverings can change grey a lot too if they are colored: a soft grey wall can look sickly pinkish if light partly passes through orange or red curtains, or more beige than grey if the light is partly passing through tan, yellow, or light orange curtains.

Just painted several rooms in BM Barren Plain with Decorators White trim. Have same issue with those rooms not receiving much natural light here in Wisconsin winters. Really brightened them up and quite happy with the look. Barren Plain is a more cool beige than yellow beige.
