I try to keep the cabinets. I try to design a single line kitchen, as the kitchen is only 20'*12' (countertop area included).

However, if a good design requires changing the cabinet, I will do it. Anyway, not many cabinets are needed in my kitchen.

Those cabinets are easy to match. I'd order a nice pantry and built in fridge cabinet and use that free wall you have something leaning up against for the pantry and fridge.

What about the stove and the sink? The stove is too close to one entrance, and the sink is too close to the stove (only 12").

Hi Aaron - Is that a fold-down table on the wall that fab is referring to? It seems as if that spot is the only real alternative you have for refrig placement - with a table or island with stools in the middle, where the fridge is perched in these photos. I certainly can see why you knocked the wall out. ...much nicer, spacious feeling now. But the wall was at least giving your refrig a home.

Very nice light now coming into the space adjacent to the kitchen, from the two kitchen windows. But those two windows don't seem to leave any good alternative layout to what is now in place. Best Wishes! Mark

Hi Again, Aaron - Now that I look again, one improvement I see is to move the sink into the corner. This would distribute counter space more effectively. We always prefer a recessed arrangement if the sink is in the corner, as in this photo. Mark

Hi, Someone, thanks for ur comments. That is indeed a folding table, but it is attached to a heat radiator panel, so I cannot move the fridge there. I will put the fridge along the wall on the right hand side In the first pic, which is the wall against the folding table.

Shouldn't the sink always be under a window? There is a trade-off: by put the sink at the corner increases work efficiency but lose the sight when washing.

Is it good to move the stove to be under the window (hidden behind the fridge in the first pic) and move the sink to be under the second window?

Would an island be helpful in design?

Generally not wise for stove to be under the window - and in your situation, would mean micro would need to be somewhere else.

In your room, a corner sink would have you standing where you can see out of both windows. And most folks with dishwashers don't really stand at their sink for long periods anyway. ...so prep counter under the window is actually more valuable.

To analyze the trade-offs here, try standing close to the corner and see where you are relative to the windows - and monitor your sink-standing time as you work in the kitchen.

If you have enough space around you can put the stove in the island and the fridge by the window on the right. Make a bar height counter in front of the stove so you'll have a backsplash and it can hide some mess while you're cooking. Pantry where the stove was.

An island is an excellent idea, have a look at this design. You could put the sink in the island instead.

You can use the angled base cabinet beside the stove and put it beside the drawer near your sink to make a softer transition form 24" to a 12" base.
