What room is this? What does the adjoining space look like?

This is the bedroom - and I did paint this week - crazy right?!
So the corner has become a collection point of left over furniture. It could become a nice sitting area - just not sure what and how many pieces. And windows?? Wrap around. Two long rods. Four short rods?

With the windows it would be a great place for an indoor tree or tall plant, angle the chair.

I'd get rid of the junk furniture, hang draperies (two long rods) and select a nice Chaise or Lounge Chair w/ Ottoman, a nice round end table (Smaller than what's there) and reading lamp...
...and angle the setting in the corner rather than mashing it against the wall.

Like the color much better! bepsf is right about replacing the dated furniture with a chaise or chair and ottoman and a complimentary side table/lamp. If the view is nice, take advantage of that by positioning the seating so it can be enjoyed. Make the seating color something bold/interesting it will really pop against the gray. Good luck!

I would put a small round table in the corner with a lamp and then two chairs on either side to balance the corner. It might be expensive but wooden shutters would be nice in that corner. Can be closed for privacy but opened just enought to let the light in.

Pull all furniture out and put 3 large plants/trees in that sunny spot. Cleans the air automatically. Looks soooo much better. Still plenty of room for one chair, floor lamp and a table.

I'd have a window seat made and cover it with fantastic fabric cushions and pillows!

Hang some drapes and hang them high. I agree with bepsf, get rid of the hand me downs your bedroom should be yours. A nice lamp and chaise and a small round table for your tea.

Plantation shutters. Seating area is predictable and you probably won't use it that much. Elegant writing table/desk/lap top area? Or if you like clothes and have a lot of accessories, put a standing jewelry cabinet and stand alone mirror. Good luck! Looks great so far!

The 2 lamps that were in the original photo would look nice as bedside table lamps by your bed. If they are not exactly the same height, place a book(s) under the shorter lamp. I love this little alcove. What do you NEED there? what would you USE there? Do you need a sewing space or a desk area or a rest area to have tea or chat on the phone? As a rest area, place other chair there and a table between. I'd keep the window treatments just as they are! If you like house plants, they'd probably grow great in this area (on the table between the chairs).

love the room but the corner in question just doesnt go. i see the side of a door frame in the picture. if that is a door to a deck or balcony use the area in the corner as a "lead to" the outdoors. soften the blinds with yards and yards of a botanical themed print, a neutral colored chaise or one of those chair and a half chairs and large plants. i dont know the climate you are in, or even if you like the outdoors but you could get that poolside feeling going in your room. post after pics plse.

Yes - it does lead to a pool area/outdoor living room.
