Please help -retrofit cabinet dilemma

Hi I luv houzz and this is my 1st question so here goes :)

We received cabinets from someone who was upgrading their kitchen. Because they were second hand, the install guy had to tweak them a bit to fit them into the new "L" shaped kitchen I now have. As you can see from the photos, we were not too sure of what to do with this back wall. So one of the doors was cut and glued to that area of the cabinet box. Believe it or not, most people actually do not notice it until I point it out. They just say it's not that noticeable but honestly I know I need to do something about it. The door is glued and is not functioning so doesn't open and if it did open that would look odd too...the installer thought about putting a plant in the cabinet behind there but we opted for this. I know this is quirky and hope you have a sense of humor as well as any suggestions? I have been thinking about installing an ikea shelf and maybe putting something in front of the awkward area. Like cookbooks or something. Please let me know if I should take add'l pics. THANKS!!!
