Great space! I'd do minimal décor with two square lamps at each end and maybe one tray between.

I like darzy's idea, but would add something to sit on the tray. Anything that has a bit of curvy shape to it. You have alot of hard lines (squares) in your room, so just anything to break that up just a bit

Just fyi..the sideboard and mirror are right of the table. The 2nd picture was taken before the sideboard and mirror were in place.

We plan on adding an artwork on the wall between the 2 windows. We are having a hard time finding a painting large enough that isn't expensive.. The space between the 2 windows is over 108" wide!

We already have so many lights in that dining room/kitchen. We are thinking of going with a vase or 2 and some candle holders. Just not sure how to group them so they look like they should be there.

This is a more or less classic way of grouping items of various heights, in line with the advice above. Note that the taller items overlap the frame to link the two dark shapes, and that the items have a certain theme or connection (the colours and simplicity in this case). Otherwise ignore the actual items I've drawn in. Probably the most important shape in getting a balanced design is the triangle -- that's why the figure three (and bigger uneven numbers) features so much. Here we have a kind of shallow triangle upside down, if one thinks of a line going from the top of the vase to the top of the candlesticks and then from each side to the middle of the tray. Another approach could be to cluster three tall items, or even one notable tall item (such as an ikebana arrangement) with two or four shallow items, on the one side and leave the rest bare, or perhaps with just a good-size low bowl to balance on the other side. You don't absolutely have to have something in the middle. Hope this helps.

Updated a bit. Bought the vases on the left from West Elm. Plan to add something else in the near future to the right.

The vases are very pretty. can I ask where you got your buffet/who made it? I love the simple lines.

The buffet table is the Draper Tobacco Finish Buffet Cabinet from overstock.com. We currently do not have the hardware installed as we are deciding on something a little nicer. Otherwise the buffet is very nice. It is all wood except for the backing and the bottoms of the drawers which are pressed wood. Very happy with it.
