I would explore a custom covering. Try Hunter Douglas. They have everything from Honeycomb therma binds in all sorts of fabrics to Sillouette draperies that can let light in or you can have privacy.

They are custom but warrantied for life, a top quality product and the length can be modified, Contact a local HD shop for help.

I'm not sure what you mean by bamboo drapes. Are you thinking of bamboo blinds? I'd suggest you look at grass blinds which you can find on Smith & Noble. They're softer looking than the bamboo. And I'd put drapery panels on each side of the doors. Look to see if you can mount the pole to the ceiling-it's more common that you'd think. Don't worry too much about standard drapery height being the same as your available height. First, depending on the width of your hardware, the pole itself will use some of the curtain height-as much as an inch or so. Second, it's OK if they spill a bit on the floor. Or, I'd suggest you look at semi-custom or custom drapes on Esty. They're a great bargain and allow for the type of customization that you might want, such as adjusting heights. Good Luck.

In my experience the bamboo is not a blind/drape that you can alter easily. This can prove to be a waste of money if you try altering the length. Have you considered using ODL inserts on the door to get the privacy. Then use a grommet style drape on the sides to help accent the room.

Attached is a pic of Tortoise Shell panels that hang like curtains. They are exactly 84" hence the problem because they touch the soffit and that's not including the curtain rod and brackets. I will look at Etsy like someone suggested... I need 81" curtains or something that I can modify inexpensively... but I really liked the look of the bamboo!
