I need some master bedroom inspiration

Hi all, I am finally furnishing my master bedroom and I feel a bit overwhelmed. The attached pictures show my current room. I plan to get the upholstered bed in a gray (otter). I will be getting rid of the wood chester drawer. The plan is to mount the TV and put a dresser below. What are your thoughts on the nightstand, chester drawer, and buffet table? I would like to use the buffet table under the TV. Are all those pieces to matchy? My initial thought was to make the buffet table the focal piece and use different pieces for the night stand and chester drawer. I am also seeking recommendations for paint colors (the chair molding goes around the entire room) and I have a single tray ceiling. I have 3 windows off to the side of the bed. I plan to create a seating area by the windows. I'm pretty much working with a blank canvas. Please help me complete this room.

I wanted to share the entire view of my bedroom plus the nightstand and chester drawer.

Personally, I don't prefer the matched set of furniture. I would do either the pair of nightstands, or the chest, or the buffet/long dresser. Probably choose the biggest piece. Finding some nice nightstands of a similar shape and size won't be hard, but you will have to be careful about introducing too many finishes in the room with this ornate painted piece. For wall color, I think you are going to need something that showcases the dove gray of the bed, so you will need some contrast, either introducing a color or going with a darker background to make the bed and silver dresser stand out. What colors do you like? If you are planning to stay neutral, have you considered what your paint options are with a dove gray bed? Since your floors are so dark, you are going to have to be careful with that. A softer lighter gray than the bed might work, but you are getting pretty monochromatic, so you will need to choose accent color. Do you like the blues/greens they show with the bed? More pinks maybe? This is going to be personal choice.

I love the bed and the bedding. Is it a grey blue? It is difficult to tell on monitor. Acqua/teal/duck egg blue would go really well too. And i love all of the matching pieces. I am not one for lots of different finishes

Thank you for the comments. The bed shown is just a sample of what mine will look like. I am not going to use the same bedding. I am open to using a paint color that will contrast with the headboard. Any thoughts on what type of chest and nightstand would compliment the buffet table? I'm not sure how it would look to use many different pieces with different finishes.

Omg I just saw a buffet very very similar to your choice at the Salvation Army store for $35, and 2 women were discussing how it was too ornate and old fashion and I thought it would look fabulous painted a dull metallic, oh well. As for paint, what are you drawn to, go with what speaks to you, buy samples and paint on large poster boards, see how those look in different times of day, night, with lighting, etc. have fun.

I think you should start at the beginning and paint;) I would paint the tray ceiling first, making it a contrasting focal point, remove the chair rail and then paint the walls. Are you leaning towards blues and grays?

How about using a blue green for paint color? The bed and whatever furniture pieces you use will look great against it.

@carolins, you have my exact ideas in those pictures you attached. So my problem is which pieces to choose. I must have a chester drawer, 2 nightstands and a dresser/buffet in the room. I can not seem to put together that combo without looking too matchy.

Buy very thing at Z Galleries if that is look you have. Go the aqua, blue tones with he silver metallic furn. Use in night stands too. Remember to get big furn and just a long dresser, not to many pieces. The very tall padded headboard in a soft gray would work. Then paint a sea salt from Benjamin Moore. Panels on windows in a satin pewter gray. Very full. Floor to ceing. Accessories, get after furn hoes in. If a wood floor get a big area rug for foot of bed bad push under bed. You have a nice large room with interesting windows. Okay off that. With 2 small accent chairs sitting I front of them with a silver table between. Lamps on end tables. Go glam. Tall silver base gray silk shades.

Caroline, post shows some great wallpapers. That would be nice behind bed. Take a color from walls and metallic silver. Bedding very important stay in the silvers. Add layers.

Hmm... I actually quite like these matching pieces. Especially since you're going for a luxurious look.

@indianpatti, I DO love the look you've suggested for a bedroom. Very calming, but beautiful. Still shows off the headboard nicely.

Exactly, and there are different kinds of designs that you can choose.
