Master bedroom color scheme

I bought this upholstered bed not realizing how much blue was in the fabric (instead of gray). Now I am having trouble with wall colors to make sure the headboard stands out. I am in the very early design stages for the room and want to paint the walls sherwin Williams peppercorn (sample on the wall) but I don't think it works with the headboard. My husbands hates accents walls. The other colors in the room are going to be mustard yellow (like the chair) and white. I was thinking of using trim to make a frame around the headboard area of the wall and paint the inside mustard yellow. Any thoughts?

Yes, that color is too dark. I'm not understanding the mustard yellow/white walls you are referring to, I guess. Could you explain it?

Yes, adding mustard behind the headboard will help

Do you get a lot of light in the room, that is definitely a bold color not sure if I could do it.

That might be the only accent you need.

That is a beautiful headboard. Not liking the color with it, either, and not sure about any sort of accent colors or painting in your room. I like the white, though! Could you be happy with a greige paint on the wall and then adding in the yellow/golden color with pillows, drapes and lamps?

A huge no to the peppercorn for me. Mustard yellow does not sound very relaxing for a bedroom but with that said it would go with the headboard.

I hate to say this but I would go with a gray wall.

I think the peppercorn is too blue- but a dark color could be really dramatic if you chose something a bit warmer maybe? Then bring your mustard in.

I we'd like to see a better view of ur ceiling, maybe a good idea to paint the header a med blue/gray and the walls a soft greige.
So long as u have adequate lighting

Nancy- The white was an accent "color" that will be the roman shades and white duvet cover.
EB Interiors- It is a 3 foot coffer ceiling (no light fixture yet!)

I would consider a soft gold, rather than the mustard yellow. I think it would be overwhelming on three walls. If you look at paint strips to match your chair, go two or three steps lighter for the paint.

Based on your inspirations photos, with your dark headboard, go with a lighter color than the headboard and then your yellow and white. Notice the dark paint is featured with a white bed. I love the idea of your color scheme.....mainly because they are the colors in my master bedroom!! But FYI, I started out with a dark paint with my yellow and white, but kept getting lighter and lighter until I got it right. It is about the color in the middle photo.

On my monitor your headboard is reading as Sherwin Williams Carnelian. Maybe if you pick up that color strip card, something on it will work with your headboard and the chair.

Your design inspiration is nothing like the color that you pick.

If your husband hates accent walls and you know what direction you want to go with the rest of the room, do the rest first.
You can always match colour to anything.
The peppercorn does not look good in the photo, mind you the lighting and my screen probably do not help.
I would do trim around the beautiful windows, window treatments?, accessories to make the bed really stand out: accent pillows, throw, nice table lamps, perhaps a foot bench, even a small rug?
The blueish tone and the yellow chair look great together.
If, at the end of the day, you and also your husband still find something is missing, then by all means, pull a colour out of your accessories and paint an accent wall.

I don't know where you bought the headboard, but sometimes stores give fabric samples. Request one for your headboard fabric if possible and take it shopping with you, for accessories or paint, and it will give you at least something approximate to go on, remember it will always look a bit different in your room with your light.

Pale yellow walls to bing in the yellow and make the bed pop, with white accents.

@ a crew of two - that is a smashing pillow.... @ EB Interiors.. Do you have any pics with the bulkheads and walls different colours. I am overcome with bulkheads and would love a way to make them interesting... Or something...
