Sofa design

I currently have a u-shaped sofa. I'm getting a new one because I'd prefer microfiber and a cozier, more inviting, sofa.
Not sure if I should keep with the U look or get multiple fun sofa pieces.
Would love help with ideas.
We have a family of 5 and like all the seating.
