The backsplash in this image is not seamless, but instead two pieces. Postformed laminate countertops often have a seamless, postformed backsplash that is 4” high. Many are now choosing to forgo the postformed backsplash and butt the countertop up to a separate, decorative backsplash (laminate, tile, etc.) As this is a separate piece from the countertop, it would be installed on site.
