My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

    Question re-the fire box. Size? Custom made? What is the panel/box inside the the fire box on right and is there a small duct that comes out of the left firebox? Purpose? We are building and want a large fireplace. Love the soap stone but we will be going with slate (Argillite) sourced close to our home.

    The fire box is from Montigo http://www.montigo.com/index.php?page=show-product&c=residential_corner%20right_traditional&series=HL%20Series

    It vents out the back wall. We custom built around the unit and had a friend pour the polished concrete hearth. We had constrictions with existing plumbing (due to reno) so we incorporated that into a "nook" that mirrored the bench/window seat to the left. We have 9' ceilings and made the bench seat 6'6" and deep enough to sleep on. Hope that helps!
