Exterior colour ideas needed please!

My husband and I bought this big beautiful house last year that we are slowing renovating. We are replacing the doors, and adding eavethroughs. I need help with colours!! Any ideas for colours for trim, eavethroughs or door?? Thanks!!

Beautiful house. I'd paint the front door a lighter color, perhaps a cream or light sage green. Gutters should be painted to match either the roof or the fascia board colors, otherwise they become an accent themselves.

I'd paint all the garage doors a brick color to make them less prominent. Pick one of the bricks and match the paint to it.

The light sage green (or so it looks on my monitor) is an excellent, sophisticated color choice with this brickwork.

The soffit is already white as you can see in the first photo. White gutters then? Or match the roof? I love these doors in the 2 other photos...black? Light? Same colour trim around doors??!!? We are going for a classic character look if that makes sense :-) I eventually would like to redo do the outdoor entrance tile....so many renos...so little time and not enough money!

I'd match the gutter color to the roof color. White gutters get dirty and streaked, even the brand shiny new enameled or powder coated new aluminum ones. No one wants to go up and polish the dirt streaks off the white gutters.

For the front door, white or off white or that light green. An entrance that has a long overhanging porch can be quite dark and foreboding. A white or light color door is more welcoming in those circumstances. Trim should match the door, but opinions vary. Black doors look great when they are out in the open and freshly painted. Try draping a white sheet over the door and standing back to look at the house from the front yard or street.

Great ideas! Looking at the house photo now the entrance looks like a dark hole! I am going to try that white sheet idea! Good points on the gutters too!! Thanks!

What geographic area are you in that already has snow? I think most paints require a pretty warm day to go on smoothly and dry fast.

Northwestern ontario last November :). No snow yet this year... Fingers crossed

Yes, disguise the garage doors and play up your front doors and windows.

I'm not sure what eavethroughs are, anyone help me out please?( I'm sure it's a cross cultural thing, sometimes I have to figure out US local terminology. )

Eavestroughs are "eaves troughs", also called gutters. Regional preferences. Gutter is easier for spellcheckers.

Northwestern Ontario seems very exotic to me. What I like about the house is the sense of proportion in the design. It is all of a piece and fits its setting.

I am still stuck on trim colours. Brown beige or white???

You need to draw more attention to the front door. Some planters on the steps will help, and de-emphasize the side door by painting it white. Paint the front door a liht green or something else light so it doesnt look like such a cave. A nice entry light under the portico will help too.
