I painted my kitchen in "Cool Sheets" by Valspar and it's the most perfect shade, somewhere between white and the palest blue. It would look great in here.

What are the other color schemes in your home?

I agree with the soft yellow. It will pick up the brown in the floor and tie in with the countertops nicely. A very pale yellow , not yellow.

If you're going to have rugs, curtains ...might be easiest to pick them first and then draw a colour from those.

I think your room is so neutral you could take it any number of ways.

What are the colours like in the rooms that look into this one or vice versa?
(my lovely bright green kitchen catches the eye a bit too much from the doorway when you're in the living room--lesson learned!)
