Does the heat damage the TV?

With the TV above the fireplace, will the heat damage the components and/or TV screen?

A traditional wood burning fireplace would be detrimental to the life of the TV however, gas fireplaces are more controlled and less likely to cause heat damage to electronics. Either way all safety precautions should be followed.
