Donna Sandra is actually not granite; it's marble. However, because it contains a higher quartz content, it has granite-like properties. At least that's what we've been told from our local granite wholesaler, Mont.

We are considering using Donna Sandra in our kitchen because of its Carrara marble-like look and granite-like properties. I saw a threshhold at Mont that is made of DS and it had no scratches, despite having been walked on by thousands of customers. The one issue we have is that there are variables in the marble. The sample had a white background; the threshhold had a predominantly gray background. We can live with the gray but really want the white. So we are waiting for the next shipment to see what options we have.

I'm considering Donna Sandra granite for my kitchen. The fabricator said it was granite, but I'm still worried about it staining and etching. Did anyone end up getting DS and are you happy with it?
