      Carpinus betulus fastigiata.. common names vary... This is the tree you want..I call it a European Hornbeam:)

      You are living in the USDA zone 8b - According to Michael Dirr ( Manual of Woody Landscape Plants) Hornbeams thrive in zone (4) ,5 to 7. I suggest you ask a local nursery...as M. Dirr has seem some do well in zone 8a ... but probably need to find a tree similar in habit to this one.

      The hornbeams look great. How far apart are they spaced and how far from the wall are they planted? (I thought it might have said 5' spacing on another image, but I can't recall. They look closer to 3 or 4' apart.)
