I love that idea. I have seen it installed in model homes in my area and think it looks so nice. As far as superior makes, I haven't a clue but do check on-line and visit flooring stores for ideas.

I've yet to see "real wood looking tiles throughout" while real wood floors have been and always will be a huge bonus. If you are concerned about resiliency just pick a harder wood like Hickory.

Tile that looks like wood is never going to fool anyone - your feet know the difference. That's really not the point. It will hold up great. It's a look most suited to a more modern style. Not appropriate (IMO) for a very traditional type home.

Beware of the wood laminates. My mom has them & stillettos leave pock marks in them.

Concur with Felix...the look is fine for bath and kitchens...perhaps even family rooms...feel all wrong for full house, especially in traditional home.

Felix, you know what they say on houzz about laminate floors? Picture of wood on plastic. So whenever I mention that I have laminate flooring in my home, I always put that in with my comment. Makes me sad each time, but I really do dislike them. Would love wood-like tile. Sounds kind of funny now that I think about it, laminate is wood-like and tile can be wood-like. Maybe we should all be installing real wood!!!

I think they look very real and I almost always have to touch it to believe it is not wood!
A great option, as someone already mentioned, for homes with large dogs and also great for basements.

When my daughter and son-in-law were building their new home they installed what Traditions in Tile showed in his first picture. Still looks great after 10 years with two ruff boys and two large dogs. Nothing else would have handled the abuse. I believe it was just new to the market at the time. This is a country home so looks good in the setting.

I have it in my master bath and on my fireplace. Two different tones.

Mom4, do u have pictures? Would you put it in your kitchen? I feel like there is a stigma attached to wood tile but for my life it would be wonderful, ie kids and a dog.

This is before it was done. Yes I would put it in a kitchen. I think the grey weathered tile would look great with white cabinets and black or grey granite.

Erica, if it's what will work best for your lifestyle then I think that's what you should go with! We have real hardwoods in our kitchen and foyer but recently put Mannington Adura Luxury Vinyl planks in our dining room. I was completely against vinyl when it was first recommended-but it's not the vinyl I was thinking of from the 80's & 90's! We are very happy with it so far!
