Am I done?

I am trying to put some finishing details to this bedroom and I have just run out of gas. Everything is new but it just seems to need something. Thinking maybe a garden stool as a small side table. Maybe a mirror on the wall?

    Janice,
We have a very nice collection of mirrors and other accessories at our store. I also think that mirror would look nice on the wall for you. You can visit us at www.essentialsinside.com

I think you are missing a bit of color. I am also not sure about the placement of the chair and dresser - it looks a tad forced.

I agree with reba. Maybe if you had the chair on the other side of the lamp facing towards the dresser? I also think you need art or a mirror above the dresser for some color. Maybe a mirror with a colored frame.

Give yourself a break. The best decorating never look like a magazine picture.

Could we see a little more wall and windows and a little less floor? I can't make a judgment from this photo.

A colored throw blanket on the chair would look nice.

I actually love the lack of color for a relaxing feel in the bedroom. Two lamps by the chair might be too much, though. And I can't even tell you which to think about moving, as they are each nice.

I love your space too. I love your idea of the mirror above the chest and a garden stool as a side table as well. In a monochromatic space, sparkle and different textures make it interesting. Here's what I'd buy...The stool, mirror for above the chest and a soft pillow for your chair.

I'd get a wicker foot stool, and some sheers up on the windows. Pillow and blanket on chair too.

I think it lacks personality and looks very "cold." Since it is a bedroom, you could use some softness at the windows. If you don't want color, layer some cream colored drapes and lots of texture.

I love it, has a film noire quality, erotic and foreign.

    Or art!

    Or a photo of you!

The chair looks like it is on top of dresser? What is happening in the rest of the space. Hard to comment based on the little we can see.

Just to give you an idea...

We still are seeing the same side of the room. Can you take a pic of the other side of the room? Bed? Nightstands? Where is entrance to the room?

Love the windows with no curtains, by the way!

Thanks for the curtain suggestion and photo! Really appreciate it!

You're welcome. I would probably go with a semi-sheer in a gray and white print.

Or something with a silver thread in it.

I think it's beautiful and serene. You've done a good job, and if it needs more, the ideas will cone to you in time.

Yes, you will see something, somewhere, and say, "That's perfect!"

Very peaceful but I don't get the chest of drawers next to the chair. I looks lonely. It seems like the windows are in a bow front section of the house? If so have you considered doing a long window seat with storage underneath. You could add pillows and put in a luxurious window seat made of tufted velvet. I then think you just need a few finish pieces to bring the space together butmore photos would be helpful.

Really like the idea of a window seat. We have considered doing that, but we are installing french doors and a small balcony to overlook our back yard. Great idea tho...hmmm...

Love the fireplace! I think this room looks very peaceful and relaxing!

Amazing space... You are so close! I suggest more color and more texture... A plant? A basket with a blanket in it? Some bolder color and wall art? I would suggest a muted turquoise or sage green...

OK...colorful blanket...off to shop. ;) like your suggestions. Thank you! I will post another updated photo tomorrow.
BTW, the rug was ordered online and has a slight sea foam edge to it.

Janice it looks amazing! The chair looks so much better where it is now. :) And I love the dresser with the flowers and the mirror. And I love your bed. And the rug. Can I just move in with you please? LOL

In my opinion I love what you've done but I think what might have thrown it off in your first photo was the light on the dresser was too tall and a shorter smaller one would be more appropriate. Just a suggestion. The mirror seemed to tame the tall lamp It looks good with or without Curtains, depending wether you like Beachside Charm or a more formal look. The flowers defiantly give the room warmth.

Thank you. I've been working on it for so long I can't tell what's good and what's not anymore. I really appreciate the suggestions.

Wow with this new photos we really get a better viewpoint and it all looks pretty darn good. I like the idea of french doors to the deck. It would give the room a more expansive feel. I also like the repositioning of the chair away from the dresser. Now it looks more balanced. I would suggest a more substantial bedside table. The one you have looks a tad dwarfed by the bed. I am not sure if you have room on both sides but you should think to add something larger (but not neccessarily bulkier) with tapered legs to balance the bed. Also more texture and a bit more shimmer would cap it all off right. Now when you are ready for a girls night pajama party. Ring me up and me and my fluffy bunny slippers will be right over. Great job. Keep at it.

Thanks Christine! I have struggled with that end table. There are actually two. In fact, when I took another photo I thought I would most likely hear about it,
I will try to find something that reflects the bed....especially the legs and go a bit bulkier (but not too much) and a drawer would be nice. I'll be back!
    P.S. I love bunny slippers. :)
