Vessel sinks- love them or hate them?!

We are building our home and are at the starting stages of figuring out what sinks to put in the bathrooms. I love the looks of vessel sinks, but have found if the faucet is high up- the water splashes on me. Do you have one? Do you love it? Hate it?

I love the way they look too, but my friend has one and detests it and made me promise to never put one in.

I think they look great, but water is always collecting near the point that they are inserted and I think cleaning is a problem.
