Beautiful kitchen! Beautiful granite! I happen to love blue too and had blue counters once upon a time. Sounds like all counters will be in this granite. Do you think it will be a bit much. How about using it on the island and behind the range only and work in another color in the neutral tones you have through out your home.

Ya I would just do the island if you could if you have glass cabinets any where you can put nice blue dishes to tie it in

Your granite is very striking. All those cool colors blended with the warmth of the cream gives you a lot of choices, however I would let the granite be the star in the kitchen. Steer clear of a faux finish on the island to avoid a clash war - instead paint it a rich, warm gray with undertones of tan - better known as "greige." Keep the backsplash simple and light or you run the risk of your kitchen looking too heavy. Nothing wrong with a sandstone there. Pick up the deep blue of the granite with blue accessories and play around with at least 3 different hues. Brushed nickel accents will make the black cabinets pop. Lastly you will probably want an accent color - a color that you use sparingly - perhaps one or two items at most. A deep, burnt orange would compliment the blues quite well. Have fun!

I will only be using the Blue for the Island..And I'm with you Terri on the Back Splash..It will be very light more then like a warm whitewash of travertine or sandstone..I was pondering adding a few glass cabinets on either side of the Cooktop and lighting them up with some colored glass..Guess you guys just made me feel alot better with going forward, Terri any chance of getting a picture of the color you were thinking about..so vauge on a google search.....I will use all of you ideas and repost pictures when I'm done for you guys/gals Thankyou so much..Hope there is a way for you to follow this post

Sorry about first stone. Are you putting this blue just on island or all of kitchen? . It's very bold are you sure you want to use it.? A bold blue like this is very busy and hard to live with. Please take time to reconsider. There are many other great colors. This is a big investment. Think about it.

Sometimes subtle touches can be neat with something like that have the corbels painted to match if you have any on your island. Maybe a bright blue bar stool at the island if you are planning on seating, another color option to add would be silver I think you would be surprised how much silver would show in that countertop if you had an accent in it. Maybe not silver but a metal or stainless steel I think you get the point I'm trying to make with that color haha

Just read your post. Yes go a travertine for backsplash. Like your choices except for the bold blue. The one that broke was different I liked that one. This one seems cheap looking sorry. Yes put in some glass doors to lighten look. Place where they are seen the most. I would keep island the same as cabinets. You don't want a lot going on . What is floors?

Yes , Only the Blue for the Island..I know its Crazy but I'm going to make it happen because I fell in Love with this blue ..Could have went deep red and been fine..I love the Stainless bar stools and brushed nickel hardware..Also Im going to do the glass cabinets for sure but I can only do them on each side of the range hood and I will add lights to them. I'm doing the whole house at the same time and I have a few months off work so the room with the red couch or Junk Room Might actualy get a little blue accent in the travertine tile that will cover the old creepy granite..The room the brick is under remodel and has a limstone fireplace "well Almost ..So I have alot of room to tie everything in still

Lots of good ideas here! I had been thinking of greiges such as Coastal Fog and London Fog, both by BM, Analytical Gray by SW, or even Mineral by Behr. They each have warm and cool properties depending on the lighting in the kitchen.

Yes, pops of the blue in other ares of the house will lend continuity. So would a skylight with a view of the blue sky, unless you are in a grey sky or hot area.

Thankyou So much for all the Idea's..Thanks Terri for the info..I'm looking it up right now..I just stumbled upon a huge area rug that I bought years ago and forgot about made from black strings with silver balls all over it..Perfect match for all the clolors that have been talked about almost worthy of hanging on the wall ! and i just got word back from the granite guy that there is enough to do the wet bar also in blue... I'm just gona go for it as it can be seen from the kitchen..Too bad I just remodeled it last year but Im going on the safe side as it will clash with everything..I love the feel it gave but out with the old..I will probly use pendants above it ..found and old pic..and another blue granite shot and some old kitchen layout pics..The whole project started when my $9,400 ge gave out..So i stumbled upon those fridgidare huge 66" built in fake's and went for it.. also have a industrial vent hood with makeup air so I can BBQ inside..lol It's amazing that a little more then a built in cost's can land you all new gear

I would go with white or slightly creamy subway tile for the backsplash and just let it fade into the background and make all that granite the star. Travertine can be busy and hard to match with the strongly patterned and colored granite. I guess blue could be an option, but it will be hard to get something to go with the granite and they might not quite match or compete.
