Judi's recommendation for the door is great, was going to offer the same suggestion. Would add, changing the railing and if possible, eventually replacing the cement path with interlock. The cement porch has some rust staining, perhaps pressure washing would help remove that. Has great potential.

Taller shrubs

I'm liking window boxes with some trailing plants and perhaps a real column on that porch corner!

paint the brick a cream color and the window pane trim a charcoal. I have seen it done and it looks so crisp and charming.

Also , paver the front stairs with slate and paint the front door charcoal. see what it looks like without the shutters.
