Plantation shutters take up a lot of room when opened fully. The bottom up allows your lovely view to show and maintains privacy (especially good in a bedroom). Try panels on each side of the window. Have a decorative rod extend past the windows and hang the panels so the window glass is exposed. This will allow your upper window framing to show; adding architectural interest.

I have installed top down bottom up accordion shades throughout my house and been very happy with them. Do an inside mount so they stay your trim is visible. Lowes had decent but generic stock choices and very expensive custom choices. I found blindster.com to be very affordable with lots of choices. I highly recommend them.

Cellular/Honeycomb shades offer Top Down Bottom Up and will work well for inside mount on these windows. The top coming down will allow the light in whilst still preventing prying eyes, unless they are above the elevation of the window. Might I also suggest you break it into 3 units so as to allow the windows to open and allow the airflow into the room as needed.

Just bring in your bed and furniture, there's no one out there looking in. To keep the integrity of the lovely joinery, leave it all a soft, warm white. Keep the whole room pale or white themed, this will highlight your windows and the great view outside. Want shade it at night? A single chain driven, roller blind, same color as your walls. There are heaps of such schemes in Houzz traditional Bedroom pics for inspiration.

If you install a decorative rod higher and wider you will maintain the architectural detail of your woodwork, maximize the natural light when needed, soften the room with fabric panels, and frame the view to highlight the window. Add a 1/3 of your total width to the rod width to make sure fabric panels are off molding. 100" molding to molding width=130" rod approximately. My favorite for a bedroom is a shading, Hunter Douglas calls them silhouette, they work like a blind but give your interior protection from UV Rays. Lots of colors to pick and fabric to pick from.

Doing Plantation Shutters on most windows in the house. I want to soften the look so think I'm going to do sheers for now. I'm broke after the shutter bill. Thanks for all the suggestions
