I have an older home which has steep stairs going to the second floor. I am trying to look at ideas or ways to make it more modern or safer for traffic. The base of the stairs are located in the hallway that connects the bathroom to the kitchen. And the top of the stairs appears to be at the wall that seperates the kitchen/bathroom to the living room.
