Has anyone seen the new finish by amerock called black bronze? I have seen photos but not the real thing. I think it might work for me. Any thoughts? I do not want any brown or bronze tones, looking for more of a gray.

Color depends on countertop choice I think? but definitely something sleek in design.

I like a the idea of black. I would make the door knobs small, especially with the double wall cabs. Maybe a cupped pull for the drawers. Straight pulls may be a bit too modern with the bead board, and many horizontal bar pulls tend to get hung up on belt loops. You should also consider the sink, faucet, and outlets/covers in the decision. Looks great so far!

The style of cabinets is cottage W/ beadboard etc. Since the other elements are black, stainless, grey Id go with one of those colors. Black would contrast nicely & tie in the granite. Coordinate the hardware with the cabinets in the rest of the house also.

Brushed nickel…nothing big and fancy…simple and classy.

Depending on the style of the rest of your home (the kitchen looks a little modern-country inspired), you could try glass. I have seen some beautiful glass library pulls with pewter accents for the drawers. And the uppers would be round glass knobs.

cabinets are beautiful. I don't understand the love affair with stainless appliances and black granite countertops though. almost any brushed silver knobs would work, but what about a pop of color, like a colored glass knob and drawer pulls? maybe get inspired by the floor instead of the countertop/appliances. something maybe like these

I think dark oiled bronze hardware would look nice, (they look good with stainless too). The white cabinets with black and stainless is too stark for for the style of cabinets. Black, white and silver would look good for a modern palette. The style of the cabinets is not modern. They would look warmer in a cream color along with bronze hardware, your black granite, marble backsplash and stainless appliances. If you want to leave the white cabinets then how about stainless hinges and red glass pulls.

Similar to my kitchen. I have a glass and marble tiled backsplash. I used simple brushed nickel hardware, which picks up the grays in the granite and marble, as well as my appliances. I love the look.

How about, instead of the ubiquitous nickel everywhere, adding some color? There are beautiful patterned as well as colored-glass knobs. How about mixing - some color on wall cabinets, nickel on base cabinets? This would add interest and a level of sophistication without being so ultra-monochromatic. Even adding black knobs, in a ceramic finish, would add a lot of interest over all-nickel. If you can commit to a color in the hardware, it will really make a difference.

I think black rod iron. Something different. Bring it home try a few. Bronze may work to. Love the leathered granite so worth the price to do. You have made great choices. Trust yourself.

Black hardware would be nice. It would go very nice with your white cabinates.

Choose wisely, the hardware is the jewelry of the kitchen.. I would go with a brushed nickel or a satin nickel. You have alot of doors so I would keep it simple. Good luck.

I just installed similar cabinets in my kitchen (which is still in progress). I really wanted knobs from http://www.sealifecabinetknobs.com/store/ but they were well outside my budget. Because of the beadboard, it reads country, plus the arts & crafts cabinets. I'd go with hammered black hardware to pick up the countertop and to stand out from all that white. I would use those little scoop pulls on the lowers rather than knobs. I'd paint in the inside of your glass cabinets in your accent colour to really add some colour and flair. Whatever you do, don't use silver hardware. You already have enough with the stainless. I's too cold. You want to warm up the space. Black is a warm colour.

There are so many helpful ideas provided. I seems that some ideas are different, so I am taking that as a good sign that I cant go wrong! Anyway , I bought a bag of different choices and took a poll. My family all voted for these polished pewter knobs and pulls pictured. Does anyone agree? I dont want to make a mistake with this!

For the upper cabinets I recommend knobs, and pulls on the bottom...just make sure that their shape is something that won't catch clothing. While I would lean toward the black, have you thought about glass knobs? Maybe with a bit of color to tie in another element in the space. Is there a window to the right, and does it have some sort of window treatment? (curtains, blinds) Maybe pull inspiration from that.

I agree with Muse Interior however I also think that should be the last accessory... Countertop has to be picked it has to complement and also stand out with the rest of the kitchen...

Sorry the second pic didn't post right. Anyway, unfortunately my husband is adverse to glass or color. I am trying to compromise with him by sticking with a pewter or silver.

I like the style of the polished pewter. That style, or something similar. in black would really stand out against the white of your cabinets and go well with the granite and subway tile backsplash.

I have several ideas here but first, you really need to get the big things done just like you normally put your dress on before you add your jewelry! Go choose several (one of each) of the style, color and finish that appeals to you. When your counters, back splash, floors and appliances are in place, have someone hold up (or tape) them in place (after your initial pare-down) and step back and take a hard and long look at your final choices. The final hardware choices will also be contingent on the handles of your appliances, so all of that needs to be taken into consideration. You most likely won't want straight handles or drawer pulls if your appliances have curved handles! Try painted, nickle, brushed or shiny pulls and knobs in various styles. Don't like any of them? Take pictures with your cell phone and go back to the store -- making sure you don't repeat what you brought home the first time. Spend some time now looking online or in brochures and catalogs from kitchen and bath stores. They are usually higher in those places and often the same thing can be found at your local home improvement store or warehouse for less (and you may be able to find them in contractor's packs as well!) Good luck and show us new pics when you have everything else installed--as well as those of your final selection of hardware if you need more help! The polished pewter your family voted on is fine. I would prefer the same style in black as jN Design suggests but as others have opined out it depends on your countertop. Your kitchen is turning out very well. Have you picked flooring or a countertop yet?

Yes! My countertop is being installed today. We have chosen Crema Marfil Extra marble, as we wanted to keep the theme light and "beachy". I will post photos after it has been installed. Our flooring is a very light laminate. Wishing you the best with your project.

tjohnson123 - the trouble with square knobs is that over time the knobs twist with repeated pulling, yes you can tighten the screw and put it back to "square", but do you really want to be bothering with that considering how many cupboards you have?! A round knob, or a bar handle secured in two places, will not give you trouble. If you are like me and notice when a picture is hanging crooked, the square knobs will drive you crazy if they end up on an angle!

I have these knobs with white cabs and absolute black counters. I love them but litehearted has a point about them getting out of square--but it's a very minor issue. The second picture is for location. I had matching pulls but they looked awful--too big and clunky. So when we repainted cabinets I replaced the pulls with knobs. Much less busy looking with very clean and simple lines.

I think the elongated stainless steel for the hardware. On the cabinet doors place them vertically and on the drawers place them horizontally. It will be perfect for the style of your kitchen.

All of these are great choices. However, don't forget that you still have counters, back splash, floors and appliances to work in here. A simple indentation, a 1 mm size difference, shape of the post on knobs or pulls, and half a zillion other things have to be considered in your selection. Although this is your "jewelry" you don't want to get it wrong and never be quite satisfied with your selection. Patience is definitely a virtue here. As a former client believed, and my philosophy as well, it needs to "make you smile!"

Earlier in this discussion you asked a question about "black bronze" hardware. The finish I am familiar with is "Oil-Rubbed Bronze." It is not shinny at all...it has a matte finish and it develops a patina over time from touch. I purchased door hardware from Crown City Hardware with this finish. Be sure you see a sample before you buy.

Part of your elimination process must be that you have stumbled upon hardware you liked the looks but either the edges were a bit sharp on the "cup" style pulls, the rough hollow back of some that looked good but obviously the quality wasn't there. I strongly suggest as based my own choices based on the fit and feel in my hand. I did not want any rough backs, I tried to imagine whether the man would even be able to get his fingers through it or up inside a pull cup. They are out there but there are those that won't suit your husband's hand size and grip. Knobs, pulls and bar handles should stand out far enough that everyone has ease of use with them. Please keep that idea, comfort and functionality for BOTH in mind as you choose. Best wishes on your FINAL part of all the reno! Get samples and CLEARLY MARK where you want WHAT installed. Put it on paper also.

Your cabinets are FABULOUS and you have PLENTY OF GOOD TASTE. JUST COLLECT YOUR FAVORITE samples and wait for the other biggie stuff to come into place. If you LOVE the glass or porcelain pulls...wellll, sometimes it's easier to ask forgiveness than it is to ask for permission ;-) As long as drill holes are somewhat standard so that you can exchange them then no sweat going for it. I like the colored glass or porcelain idea for your look. Gotta trust that vision and you ARE going to have to choose. You'll do great though, don't fret!

Oh, another thought...I THINK I see additional electrical outlets tucked up higher than mid part of backsplash. But if not, I would have additional installed before putting in your backsplash and so on. You really won't have enough if limited to that side wall. Hopefully, undercounter and above cabinet lights have been run when they had best access to hide any wires. Just adding another hmmmm...:-)

Oiled bronze will make for a good balance with your warm dark floor. Nickel/chrome is too prescriptive, so overdone! Black will be too stark and either of them would be too bland. Stay true to the a style of the cabinet, it looks country or Craftsman, so I have to disagree with the idea of sleek long pulls, I think they will look out of place. I do agree with the idea of pulls on drawers and round knobs on doors, and yes, square ones will always turn and drive you nuts! Hope you're considering a nice warm but cheerful wall color and art. Black and white kitchen are in these days, but can be dull without some warmth. Take your time and have fun with it!

Amerock's Black Bronze finish is very dark. It looks like a very pretty matte black.

Brushed nickel is always a great choice!
