Also wondering if the butcher block is a concern with splatters from the cooktop?

We ended up doing a Boos countertop, purchased through our cabinet designer. We did put an undercounter bar sink in the island which we have learned voids the warranty through Boos so that is something to consider. The countertop has also cracked at a weak seam on a narrow section that is between the cooktop and the sink. I love the butcher block and we use it but I am disappointed that it has only been installed for about 6 months and we already have a crack to deal with.
