can you post a few more photos of the room from other angles?

also, what color are the sofa, carpet, and walls? (they are looking a bit pink on my monitor, but I suspect they are beige)

Frequent thrift stores. I have picked up great oil paintings at reasonable prices. This is real art work, not just a picture of someone's artwork.

Art is such a personal thing.... Check out a site like Art.com. You can drag images to your computer and play around with how it might look with photoshop or other software. You can also try different sizes and frames.

While you are working on your wall ideas, find a throw in a color/pattern you LOVE. It will warm up your space (and you) and help you with deciding what you want to look at on your walls.

I would go through art.com and look at some of the art and see what makes you happy, or ones that you really love. I would say stick with color's in your color palette. But art is usually very personal for someone. Also if you go by Feng Shui then depending on the layout and direction of your room you can add art to enhance your life, for example there are different sections of your room that will enhance success, love, health and wealth. So if you particularly need help in one of these areas, then you add the corresponding art work. You can google a Kua Calculator and enter your birthday and also calculate your families colors and numbers and directions.

I would love to see some of the teal in the smaller cushions present in the artwork....consider this piece titled "I Can't Qite Remember" by Christopher Wood. It is available as a print on canvas and can be printed to your preferred size. Contact Indigo Art in the UK for further details www.indigoart.co.uk

Break up the space with simple white moldings. This will add architectural interest to the wall. You can always add artwork within the frames.

Its hard to tell colour of your sofa but I find that white in those beautiful accent pillows is too crisp / intense for that kind of beige.

If the middle of the pillow was beige instead of white it would be perfect IMO.

What kind of art do you like? Abstract, figurative? You can either purchase a reproduction or an original art piece from a contemporary artist. The price range usually depends on the size and medium. Paintings tend to be more expensive but not always. Photos, drawings or collages cost less but they need to be framed, (which adds a cost.) You could also have you own photos enlarged and printed. So many possibilities! I would need more information from you to be able to advice you better on an art choice. The good news is that you have a lovely space for the art to come. I always recommend my clients to never rush for the choice of art; it's the most difficult part to accomplish. Taking your time to look around for art is essential.
