How to paint the new bulkhead between dining and living rooms

The contractor has completed enclosing the engineered beam (we removed a load-bearing wall) and all the duct-work that was inside the wall. My ceilings are going to be white and my walls Benjamin Moore "Gray Owl". My question is ... should the underneath of the bulkhead be painted with the wall color or the white?

Definitely the wall color if the rooms will be two different colors, paint it the color that will be seen the most. For instance, in my last house I had this type of walkway going from my dining room to the kitchen. The dining room was the first room you saw when you entered the front door, so I chose to paint it the color of the dining room wall. Hope this helps!

Painting it the wall color will make it blend in to the adjoining room keeping the spaces visually larger.
