Backsplash tile install for kitchen

I currently have a range hood installed and would like to install a pencil glass mosaic tile backsplash. Should I remove the range hood and install the tile or just tile around it? How difficult is it to remove tile from the wall once it's installed?

Definitely remove the hood. The cuts will look terrible.

I have a similar hood and the contractor installed it and then put the backsplash in. I was worried that it wouldn't look right but he must have a really good tile guy because you can't tell that the tile is not behind the hood.

That being said, I still think that removing it would be easier, even though it would require a bit more tile.
