Need help with kitchen cabinet color

We're updating our mountain kitchen. We just put in Lapidus granite on the counters/bar area and installing red oak handscraped flooring. Now its time for cabinet color. It is a small kitchen with upper cabinets over the bar area. Wouldn't want the color to enclose the kitchen more. Kitchen is part of a great room. Any suggestions?
