Follow the style of the rooms it is next to, not slavishly but reference the colour or style, or both.

Hi cjtabak, Congrats on your new home! Of course it is OK! It's your home -- as long as you like the results, you can mix-and-match any way you like! :)

Agreed, it's perfectly fine to have a different style. The powder room would be a nice manageable space to test out different ideas you might have.

If you aren't building it to sell it right away, go with what you want and like.

absolutely! That's the great part of building--getting exactly what YOU want .. have fun!

I agree with indianpatti- get want you want and have fun!! Powder room is the place to make a fun statement;)

oops

Most fun room to decorate and no the toilets do not have to match other toilets. Go crazy with things you are afraid to use in other parts of the house. I always have the most fun doing powder rooms. Sorry for the pic above was playing around .

No worries Patricia, houzzers love to look at pics;) Especially Fred lol

I have 3 bathrooms and not one of them match the others. My children who are 5 and younger use a low profile. While my husband and designed our bath for the future and put in handicap which is taller. My third bath, is for guest and it has a standard. I think it's more important for each bathroom to coordinate style and taste.
