where can I locate /buy fire place

This fireplace is available at http://www.directfurnitureatlanta.com/shop/arta-l-shaped-ethanol-fireplace-by-modaflame/

you can also find it here: http://www.exotichomeexpo.com/planika-l-shape-47-x-28-ethanol-portable-indoor-fireplace-dark-oak.html

manufacturer specs say it needs a minimum room size of 2200 feet!

Yes 2200 CUBIC feet which will be about 169 sq feet.

Any open flame will consume oxygen. So you need to have a room of adequate size. But ventilation and configuration of the room access and openings play a role. The great thing about ethanol is that when burned COMPLETELY there is no toxic exhaust. However, in a poorly designed burner or when using a damper to reduce the flame, it is possible to generate CO and other impurities. That is why an electronic controlled fireplace that assures a complete burn and is monitored for safety is a first class solution. This type of fireplace (electronic) typically monitors several safety factors including temperature, CO2, seismic motion, tilt and fuel levels. The burner pictured here is a manual open tank burner and does not have these features.

aFire USA thanks for the helpful information. I found out that Planika has these features you mentioned as well. Thanks again.

Yes, both Planika and aFire supply a quality product. However, they come at it from two different directions. Planika uses a more complicated system requiring two stages to transition the fuel into a gas. aFire uses a less complicated single step process. Both are great solutions and burn absolutely clean. aFire tends to be more economical process.

Thanks aFire for noticing our products and studying our technology. Our so called "complicated" system is to unsure the highest safety standards for our users. Our brand has been awarded with numerous international safety certificates, and our intelligent fires are easy to use, operate, and install.
