Hang art so centers are at 60" above the floor and never above window or door frames unless a massive piece. With furniture underneath, leave 5-6" between art and furniture piece. This can be tweaked a bit but centers usually at 60" puts art at eye level when seated. Width should be no more than 75% of the furniture's width. Above a mantel, my preference is that the art be no wider than the firebox for balance. Here there may be exceptions to the "rule" of keeping art below door and window frames - a matter of how the focal FP and art work together. Don't forget you can stack pieces vertically. In that case, the center point of the stack should be at 60" above the floor. If grouping, say 4 "matched" pieces with same frame, the bottom frames should be aligned at the same level and one frame's width should be between the pieces. With so many paintings, you might be able to
cover one entire wall, gallery style, for a focal point to serve as an intro to your work - maybe in your foyer.
